CNY Preparation

Dear Dumb diary,

Today I spent about 2 hours making a chinese tanglung (lantern) from the red packets (ang paos). Obviously I should start with beginner's level but because the lack of proper ang paos lengths, I decided to go for the ultimum difficulty.

I made... a fish lantern.

obviously not 'this' below (too pretty okay) but mine is similar except it is set in gold ang paos.

It's so complicated because I learnt from youtube and the person//maker fast forward the vid and I had to pause rewind pause rewind a zillion times. BUT IN THE END, perseverance, intelligence, techniques :) has got me a FISH LANTERN!

because this one looks so crappy (unpolished beauty) I'm gonna use it for my own room decoration and thus, when I wake up tomorrow, I've finally found my purpose of the day. Making fish lanterns for everyone!!!

*Yawn... kinda very sleepy. Have been cleaning the house and doing chores for half the day and with this -gone-crazy-2-hours-lantern, my back is aching. Some *friend* said for someone who sleeps 18 hours a day (what I did on Wednesday) I should be more proactive in thoughts and deeds. Really? What if I'm brain dead (literally speaking) and just too indecisive :( ??
